840- KSPN WHERE WERE YOU

DID KSPN JUST SIMPLY MISS THE BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR
While watching the news on KSPN, I was disappointed not to see anything about the Unity March. Where were you? Did you not know about this, didn't care, simply missed it, forgot it happened, or for some other reason choose not to recognize it on the evening news? What's with that?
I find it hard to believe you have not covered the biggest event of it's kind, ever, in the history of Saipan, or not even to have it mentioned on the local news channel. At least mention it today and say "more on this tomorrow" as you sometimes do.
I surely hope its not a news station choosing what to report on a biased point of view. Tell me it ain't so Chris. I'll be watching again Tuesday evening to see if it's because of the workload rather than a selected omission. All of us, your viewers, will be disappointed not to see and hear KSPN mention this event. So wadda you say? We will all be watching KSPN News.
Happy Holidays....

i tuned in at seven this morning to Harry's morning show with Lewie and he also did not make a single mention about the march. he did cover island news and the casino bill and celebrity birthdays and even MLK Jr winning the peace prize on this day in history (what a segway that would have made).

perhaps tomorrow.

i too am sorely disappointed. kspn2 made mention on friday's newscast that they would cover the march on monday. they lied :-(

i saw lannie with her camera walking up through the crowd of marchers and she called in from the park that evening so they did have footage.

I was thoroughly disgusted by the lack of coverage. Makes you wonder? This was such a big event, they could have done a special on it. Everyone would have watched.

I thought it was fishy as well. If it wasn't fishy.. then it was simply folks who really didn't do their jobs.

So anon, hmmmmm
Does that picture imply that they were all partying and missed it?

Maybe they are just taking their time to cut and splice a really special, umm special out of it rather than just a news filler length piece. Anyone call them to see what their position really is?

What if they won't elaborate on their position? I don't think I'll boycott them. They weren't out there vocally against the march and as far as television goes.. the market's theirs.

The sorry assed tv station had on the opening of taco bell but did not find the march as worthy for their sorry assed coverage.

Fitial does not sit on the board for mcv; he (his office "read public funds"), reportedly has a long-term contract with kspn (or its business agency) for a series of tv programs. that is big bucks for kspn and the march and other real news is therefore not money making for them.

KSPN2 News ran a story about the unity march on Thursday before the march, two stories on Friday the day of the march including a "live" report from Lannie Walker who was there, and a reaction follow up afterwards from legislators who voted for the labor reform act. that was 4 stories on one subject.
