QUESTION OF THE DAY

Katrina MY QUESTION TODAY IS: CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ...A... HURRICANE ...A... TYPHOON... AND A... TROPICAL CYCLONE?

What makes these three have three different names, they all reek havoc and destruction, but what is different about them?
If you can tell me the difference between the above mentioned storms, click on "comments" below and tell me your answer.

Now you have a very good day. I will post the answer later today, if no one gets the correct answer. ........GED........

Hurricane is when a storm originates from Atlantic while Typhoon if a storm originates from the Pacific..

How's that?

gm..Two out of three ain't bad.
So here it is.
Hurricane--- The term is often restricted to those storms occurring over the N. Atlantic Ocean; the identical phenomenon occurring over the W. Pacific Ocean is called a Typhoon;.. around Australia and over the Indian Ocean, a Tropical Cyclone.
So there you have it.

Not completely true, glen. Hurricanes can spawn in the E. Pacific. If they move West and cross the International Date Line they become typhoons.
