HEARD ABOUT THE HASH HOUSE HARRIERS?
A crazy funnin' bunch I must say. A bit of what they are and do.....
If you like to run, drink beer or both, there is an active chapter of the Hash House Harriers (a drinking club with a running problem) on Saipan. The Saipan Hash House Harriers meet every Saturday at the Bank of Guam building in Garapan at 3:30 PM in 'Winter', and 4:00 PM in 'Summer'. Join the Hash if you'd like to meet some folks from Saipan, see some of the lesser known areas of the island, and enjoy a bit of outrageous partying. The cost is US $6.00 per person for the run, all the beer, soda and junk food you can consume, and all the fun you can handle. A hash run is similar to the game of hares and hounds. A trail is set through the boonies by a Hare. After a ten minute head start, the pack, or hounds follow the trail in an attempt to catch the Hare before the Hare reaches the ending point of the trail.....Goals of the Hash(From the 1938 charter of the Kuala Lumpur Hash House Harriers.).... 1.- To promote physical fitness among our members.... 2.- To get rid of weekend hangovers.... 3.- To acquire a good thirst and to satisfy it in beer.... 4.- To persuade the older members that they are not as old as they feel..... And always plenty of beer and partying at the end of each occasion. You need to be in reasonable physical shape to do this, (to run, not to drink beer) that is. So there ya' go. Have a glorious day! .........GED........
