635- KNEE JERKS

THE LEGISLATURE OVERRIDES THE GOVERNORS VETO ON CUC RATES
<-- Stock up on these
The Six O'clock News:
KSPN reports the legislature overrode the governors veto of the power rates for the CUC. Now I don't care for the rates anymore than you do but the reality of the matter is, the rates can't be set arbitrarily, snatching a number out of the sky. There must be a method to the madness such as research into the costs and operational expenses. You can't just find a nice number that you think will get you votes on election day and let the power company go to hell in a hand basket. This is exactly what they have done. How do they expect CUC to run with a deficit?, by being government subsidized? What will this do to the already broke gov.? It doesn't make any difference which pocket you pay out of, it is still being wasted. The bottom line is you and I will pay for this mess regardless what number they throw at us.
The real solution to this mess is to get efficient private management, someone who knows how to run a power company and keep politics out of it. Until this happens our money will continue to fly out the window no matter what rate is set! Stock up on candles and batteries you will need them! I may add more later... P.S. It's later.. I'm not quite as pissed with the CUC rates as I am with the change to the retirement withdrawal deadline (from 10 to 15 years). This is insane. If you've invested over 10 years you shouldn't be able to withdraw, you've made a commitment. This change, while seemingly convenient for the purchase of a few votes could greatly harm the retirement system.

The vetoes today were a big "vote-buying" ploy. The legislature should have addressed CUC rates in a thought out fashion two years ago..not one month before elections.

All political bullshit games!
When will they end?

...they will end when the incumbents become unemployed politicians.

It's Amateur Hour on the Hill in the biggest way we've seen to date. Sure signs that the longtime incumbents see the writing on the wall and are sweating w/ desperation. So long as the current fuel supply lasts until election day....
