OR IS IT IGNORANCE?
Barack Obama Decides Not to Continue Wearing a Flag Pin on His Lapel:
Barack Obama may choose not to wear an American flag pin on his lapel, but many of the presidential contender's political rivals say they wouldn't leave home without one.
Here is what he says, "My attitude is that I'm less concerned about what you're wearing on your lapel than what's in your heart," Obama said. "You show your patriotism by how you treat your fellow Americans, especially those who serve. You show your patriotism by being true to our values and ideals. That's what we have to lead with, is our values and our ideals."
Now I must call 'bullshit' on this one. This guy clearly has his foot in his face. What is the big deal about wearing the American flag? This one simple act will cost this idiot very dearly, this guy doesn't understand patriotism, saying its in how you live. Now that could be true, but a lot of true American citizens aren't gonna buy this bullshit. I can see his lapel on TV from 8,000 miles away but I can't see what's in his heart, so I guess he's left alone holding the bag on this one.

Here's a guy that wants to be the president of the United States and won't even wear this country's flag on his lapel, and... spews a line of bullshit about why he don't. WTF...
This guy does not deserve to be called a patriotic American, much less a wanna be presidential contender. You, Obama are out!!!

Fake but funny, in someones book I guess
The fact that people exploit patriotism for political gain is more offensive. Bush flying in with the flight deck Mission Accomplished when he was ducking Vietnam. Rudy with his endless 9/11 photo ops even when he put his command center in the WTC when everyone told him not to. This is the kind of phoney media bullshit issue that distracts from serious issues, the oil addiction, being twentysomething in education, health care compared to the rest of the world. A massive deficit. Jobs exported to other countries and ad infinitum. That's what should be the conversation.
This will all fade away when Paris, Britney or Lindsey does something more important again.
Sorry Glen... have to agree with Jeff on this one. I've become so thoroughly digusted by folks who use the flag as a tool. They romp around with flag hats, flag bags, flag ties and lapels. Most of the ones doing this haven't spent a day in the military and don't really care about the ideals of America. I don't care for Olly North, but I do believe he strives to be a "patriot".. you'll never see him with some goofy flag pin on him. Point being, it's not a liberal attack.
I think Obama is trying to make a point by highlighting all of the nitwits running around with flagwear, who are not really patriots, but are screwing the country royally. We shouldn't have to walk around wearing flagwear in order to feel like we're patriotic.
I have two kids in the Army.. I will never wear flagwear for the purpose of proving I'm patriotic.
Isn't it great we all can have our own ideas and ideals.(picture a flag here)
