987- AN EXCELLENT IDEA

THESE PAY RAISES ARE BADLY NEEDED.. A MUST DO
Pay raises are of utter importance to acquiring top quality professional people. This was a badly needed move and I even question if it is adequate. $100.000 is probably a better amount to get truly highly skilled professionals in their respective fields. So bring it on and pay the people what they are worth... Remember, you only get what you pay for.
Heinz Wants Salary Cap Exemptions Expanded
A lawmaker wants health care experts and professionals working at the Legislature and courts to be exempted from government salary caps. Rep. Heinz Hofschneider said that flexibility in the compensation paid to these professionals is needed to attract and retain qualified people in government.
Under House Bill 16-30, certain medical staff and other professionals employed working in government may receive over $50,000 a year. The bill would also increase to $60,000 the annual salary cap for professionals employed by the legislative and judicial branches. The Story Here
I agree, although $60.000 may not be adequate..
But on the other hand....

Why is it so hard for this government to allow a U.S. mandated measly .50 cent pay raise to our guest workers? So why do they keep screaming 'It'll ruin the economy' bullshit when they are not even the ones paying it? Given the professionals we refer to above, their wages will come out of the governments coffers, while the guest workers pay comes mostly from the private sector. So why age are they grimacing like the the big $eagle is coming out their asses? Get a grip and let all our people survive and receive a livable wage....
.....GED.....

I agree with you glen, certain professionals need to be attracted through pay, but at the same time, all workers need to recieve a fair wage. Let's see how well the CNMI does without trashmen and construction workers.

Now I'm going to try to decipher the anonymous comment above.

You might want to take Tony's banner down. He got out of his deployment and a month ago left me and the kids to start a new life. There's no easy way to say it, but straight up. But, thank you for your support and friendship during what seemed to me, unknowingly, and sadly at the time, to be the most heartwrenching experience I could ever go through. We've never met, but you always extended kindness and respect to me. I appreciate that very much. And I will get out of this funk!!

Boni.. so sorry. There's really not too much one can say in such circumstances. You are a great person and you'll find in time that everything works out.
