Finding replacements delaying cabinet reshuffle
GOVERNOR Benigno R. Fitial is having difficulty looking for the replacements of some of his cabinet members, according to Press Secretary Charles P. Reyes Jr.
The governor earlier said he would announce changes in his cabinet in January.
“It’s taking longer than we expected because the governor has already identified problem areas in the agencies and departments,” Reyes said. “There are two parts of the equation. First, deciding which cabinet members to replace and second, the most difficult part, is deciding who will replace them. The first part has been decided…and what’s holding up is the second process which is looking for new appointments.”
Reyes said it’s easy to dismiss a cabinet member but finding a suitable replacement is the greater challenge.
