799- BEST MOVE EVER

DIEGO BEVAVENTE REQUESTS TO BE H.F.A.C. CHAIRMAN
Benavente eyes House federal relations panel
FORMER Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente
hopes that the other incoming Republican members of the House allow him to chair the Foreign and Federal Affairs Committee.
This has to be one of the best moves this legislature could possibly ever make. Here is a man who gave up the house speakership and now wants to be the chair of the House Federal Affairs Committee. If this island needs one thing badly, and it does, it's to improve relations with Washington, Benavente is the man, without a doubt. Just think what a good congenial relationship right now with David Cohen and Jim Bennedetto would do for the progress of things to come. Get the Governor out of the picture as he continues to stonewall everything and continually pisses everyone off. This is a opportunity that should not be wasted... This man has already turned heads in Washington with his remarks on the urgent need to improve relations with the Federal Government. They are so wanting some level headed person to have an intelligent exchange on the issues at hand, and this is our guy.. This is probably the most important relationship for the CNMI to have at this time. So many important issues are on the table and are about to happen to all of us, and here is the man to be at the head of these negotiations.
Place this man in charge of the affairs with Washington now, elect him as governor in '09 and you will be on the right path to conquer the mountain!
To the legislature...DO NOT let this opportunity slip by for selfish and personal reasons, as so many things do, take this one seriously, DO THE RIGHT THING!!!

I agree with you once again Glen. Benavente and former Gov. Babauta certainly dealt with the feds alot better.

I have heard that Tina has good personal relationship with our key federal officials/contacts (Pete A. , Cohen, Benedetto
, etc.). I would look into trying to get her on that committee. Hell, get her to chair it.

Tina probably has a good relationship with most everybody, but she will have her hands full without chairing this committee. Good thought though. Benavente is the guy at this point...

True on the "hands full" comment.

I still believe she should be on the committee (if she wants to be). I have a feeling the Feds will be in contact with her more than any other CNMI official for the next 2 years (whether she is on the committee or not).

PS: Sorry for the useless crap on your blog Glen. Just needed a cool refuge from the Middle Road Discussion.

Okay so your mom's a goat f9&^er.

Obviously calling you mom that wasn't enough to get you out of your closet as I thought it might so I retract the statement. That doesn't make you less of a childish obsessed jerk though. Not much I can do if you are too embarrassed to stand up for what you say you believe. Sad.

Yeah, glen, I kind of like having Rolling Rock beer available here. It would not have happened if Busch had not bought the company and inserted the brand into its distribution system. It seems to taste the same even though made in St Louis now.

All three of you are right on in your opinion of Diego Benevente. He would be Governor right now but for a behind the scenes political screw job. He would make a great Governor in 09 and the good part is he is eminently electable.

Four for Four: This is a first, I'm sure. Lil, Plato and Bruce all agreeing together with me on the same subject! Get me a skywriter, maybe there is some hope here after all. A real break-through.

I kind of figured that was your intent. No biting on my side though.

Yes we all do agree on something. Call Ripley!

As for the anonymous thing. I think Kierkegaard said it best:

"Half of Kierkegaard's authorship was written behind the mask of several pseudonymous characters he created to represent different ways of thinking. This was part of Kierkegaard's indirect communication. According to several passages in his works and journals, such as The Point of View of my Work as an Author, Kierkegaard wrote this way in order to prevent his works from being treated as a philosophical system with a systematic structure. In the Point of View, Kierkegaard wrote: "In the pseudonymous works, there is not a single word which is mine. I have no opinion about these works except as a third person, no knowledge of their meaning, except as a reader, not the remotest private relation to them."[28]

Kierkegaard used indirect communication to make it difficult to ascertain whether he actually held any of the views presented in his works. He hoped readers would simply read the work at face value without attributing it to some aspect of his life. Kierkegaard also did not want his readers to treat his work as an authoritative system, but rather look to themselves for interpretation."

Damn, here we go, Lil and I are disagreeing again...
But most importantly the need for a good relationship with the federel govmt. through Mr. Benavente was in total harmony...

Gonna ask LT if we can take Cohen out Fishing.

See if he will let you, Lil and Bruce hop on.

Nothing mends a bad relationship like reeling in a few while tossing back a few. Hell, I'll even bring some Tanduay for Lil.

I'll even provide the boat, once the Emerald is repaired. Minor work needs doing. I love fishing for pelagics and even like to bottom fish once in a while. Bring wine for Lil.
