A couple of days ago I met a friend for a coupla' drinks, she had a Japanese tourist 'customer' with her at the time. In the course of conversation the 'tourist' took out her camera to show me what she did and where she had been. These photos are what she showed me, the ones she will take home to show all her friends. I'll let the pictures explain themselves. That's all.... .....GED.....

It is vile. There is no excuse for it, no reason that would justify it. What a great advert for your area.
Not for publication ...
As a writer I don't think you can write about the world unless you read about the world, write about people unless you are interested enough in people to read about them... so that's how I came across the blog. Interesting people write interesting stuff and that's always enough for me to want to read.
I don't have any links to other blogs on my blog because I don't have - and don't want - editorial control on what anyone else write. I never put a link up that could be seen as me endorsing a view I am radically opposed to. I respect everyone's right to free speech, but does not mean I want the fans of my books thinking I agree with someone they read on a blog they find through my site. I guess I got to this line when it became clear that some of my readers who also read the blog are still at school.
There was a local group interested in converting the lighthouse into a maritime museum. While it was early in the discussions, the group did have interest/possible support from local business and plans on making the museum sustainable without gov't handouts. However the idea was shelved. Apparently somebody else had plans for the lighthouse. (Rumor has it another restaurant)
Although nothing has been done in over a year since the maritime museum idea was floated. (pun intended)
How do I know? I was part of that group.
