An apology like this one should be like violating probation. This should be a reason to be recommitted to jail. What a weak excuse, here see for yourself.... The whole Story Here

Ex-Finance supervisor gets 18-month sentence:
Former Department of Finance's Treasury supervisor Francisco C. Calvo entered a guilty plea yesterday and was sentenced to 18 months in prison for his involvement in a scheme to defraud the CNMI government of $35,825 by collecting payments using fake invoices. The judge directed the defendant to write a letter of apology to Finance and seek counseling appointment for gambling or poker addiction.
Apology: Here
I am writing this letter to formally apologize to the public for my unprofessional behavior and actions. We tend to make choices in life and sometimes do not realize if we've made the right or wrong ones. I am remorseful and vow never to repeat those actions again.

Is this really an apology? Do you think this was what the judge had in mind? Was it directed to finance as ordered by the judge? I think another apology is due, one with merit and meaning.
How about you?

I saw that too -it was not even close to an apology -more like an excuse...
That was funny.. until I realized who the writer was, I had no clue what it was about.
He should get a year for that alone. You'd think his jailer was behind him forcing him to write the letter.
This is shit! It's not even an apology. He tried to minimize his crime by saying "We tend to..."
What a joke. Was he saying that he didn't know that it was a crime? Was his letter written so carefully by his lawyer so that he wouldn't admit any fault?
This guys is a dick and needs to either write another letter or ride out the full sentence in the pokey.
BTW, do they serve poki in the pokey?
